Court orders takedown of CarryMinati’s alleged defamatory videos of Karan Johar
A civil court in Mumbai has ordered popular YouTuber Ajey Nagar, better known as CarryMinati, to stop publishing any content on filmmaker Karan Johar that is deemed “defamatory, vulgar, or abusive”. The court has also directed social media platforms to take down videos already posted by Nagar that target Johar.
The interim order was issued on Monday by Civil Judge P G Bhosale following a lawsuit filed by Johar. In addition to Nagar, the case names other defendants, including his manager Deepak Char, One Hand Clap Media Pvt Ltd, as well as technology companies Google and Meta.
The court’s decision represents a notable development in the broader legal discourse on online speech, content regulation, and defamation in India’s digital landscape.
