A complaint was filed at the Kota Consumer Court in Rajasthan against actor Salman Khan for 'misleading' ads of pan masala, according to reports.

As per the reports, BJP leader and advocate Inder Mohan Honey filed a case stating that Salman's influence could send a wrong message to the youth since he is a role model for many.

Khan is also involved in long-running blackbuck poaching case, which has spanned over two decades at the Rajasthan High Court.

The case dates back to October 1998, during the shooting of the Bollywood film 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' near Kankani village in Jodhpur. Salman Khan was accused of poaching a blackbuck, an endangered species protected under the Wildlife Protection Act. The case was filed after a complaint by members of the Bishnoi community, which holds the blackbuck sacred and has played a major role in pursuing justice.

Now, the actor has landed in a legal trouble in the same state.

Notably, 57.5% of global head and neck cancer (HNC) cases occur in Asia and India accounts for 30% of these cases. Annually, in India, the prevalence of head and neck cancer is approximately 5,00,000 cases with over 1,25,000 deaths.

“HNC arises from various risk factors, with tobacco use and alcohol consumption being the most significant contributors. Prolonged smoking or chewed tobacco (like gutka) and alcohol intake can lead to cellular damage and genetic mutations, increasing cancer susceptibility,” Dr Deepak Sarin, Vice Chairman - Head & Neck Onco Surgery, Head and Neck Oncology, Cancer Institute, Medanta Gurugram, said.

“Additionally in India, eating supari leads to changes in the lining of the skin of the mouth which can lead to mouth cancer. More recently, infections with human papillomavirus (HPV) have also been linked to cancers in the throat. This is a virus transmitted by oral sex and its incidence is on the rise,” he added.

As per a report by Cancer.net, 70% to 80% of head and neck cancers are linked to tobacco use, and the amount of tobacco use may affect prognosis, which is the chance of recovery.
