Chahal files defamation case amid row over influencer’s claims of ‘cute’ message video

A controversy involving cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and actor-influencer Taniya Chatterjee has escalated into legal proceedings, with Chahal reportedly filing a defamation case following remarks made by Chatterjee that went viral on social media.

The dispute stems from a paparazzi video in which Chatterjee said she had received a direct message from Chahal on Instagram saying ‘cute’. The clip spread widely online, triggering intense reactions, including trolling and debate across social media platforms.

As the controversy grew, Chatterjee reportedly said she had been unfairly targeted and subjected to online harassment. She expressed surprise at the scale of the backlash and maintained that she had no intention of harming anyone’s reputation.

As per reports, Chahal has initiated defamation proceedings against her in response to the claims.
