Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal, one of the country’s top spinners has been in the eye of a storm after both he and his wife Dhanashree Verma unfollowed each other on social media. Chahal has now opened up about speculations on his break-up with his wife. In a recently shared cryptic post on his social media handle, he has claimed the rumours have caused immense pain to his family.

After rumours surfaced about him divorcing his wife, Chahal shared a story in which he mentioned that the speculations surrounding recent events in his personal life may or may not be true. He thanked his fans for their immense support but also stated that he doesn’t need any sympathy from anyone.

His long story on his social media handle read: “I am grateful to all my fans for their unwavering love and support without which I wouldn't have come this far. But this journey is far from OVER!!! There are still many incredible OVERS left to deliver for my country, my team, and my fans!!! While I am proud to be a sportsman, I am also a Son, a Brother, and a Friend. I understand the curiosity surrounding recent events, particularly about my personal life. However, I have noticed certain social media posts speculating on matters that may or may not be true.”

The rumours of their divorce were fuelled after Chahal and Dhanashree recently unfollowed each other on Instagram. Additionally, they deleted posts related to their wedding, which further sparked speculation about their relationship.

Chahal got engaged to Dhanashree, a YouTuber, dance choreographer, and dentist who has participated in the reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, on August 8, 2020. They married in a private ceremony on December 22, 2020, in Gurugram.

In recent times, Dhanashree had also posted cryptic messages on social media supporting Chahal in matters related to his selection for the national team. However, their decision to unfollow each other on social media is being taken as a sign of their separation.
