US pop star Britney Spears has sold the rights to her music catalogue, including global hits such as ‘…Baby One More Time’ and ‘Oops!... I Did It Again’, according to US media reports.

A prominent entertainment news portal, TMZ, reported on Tuesday that the deal is believed to be worth around $200 million, citing sources familiar with the matter. However, it noted that the exact figure is not specified in the legal documents.

Spears, 44, joins a growing list of high-profile artists who have sold their music rights in recent years. Musicians including Queen, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Katy Perry and the estate of Michael Jackson have all struck catalogue deals worth hundreds of millions — and in some cases billions — of dollars.

The reported agreement covers a string of Spears’ chart-topping tracks, including ‘Toxic’, ‘Gimme More’, ‘Womanizer’, ‘Stronger’, ‘Circus’, ‘I’m a Slave 4 U’, ‘Lucky’, ‘Overprotected’, ‘Piece of Me’, ‘Sometimes’, ‘Till The World Ends’ and ‘(You Drive Me) Crazy’, among others.

The development comes months after Spears reflected publicly on what she described as some of the most difficult years of her life. In a lengthy post on Instagram, she spoke about the period when she was separated from her two sons and her marriage to actor Sam Asghari.

As per reports, Spears also told followers she is focusing on healing, writing that she feels she is recovering and rediscovering simple joys in life. She suggested that her marriage had felt like a distraction during a challenging period and expressed gratitude for small everyday experiences as part of her recovery journey.

The catalogue sale marks a significant financial and professional milestone for the singer, whose career spans more than two decades and helped define late 1990s and early 2000s pop music.
