Fans of Billie Eilish in India will have to wait longer for the release of her concert film, ‘Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard And Soft: The Tour’, after the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) sought several cuts and modifications before granting certification.

The film was initially scheduled for release in Indian cinemas earlier this month, but the certification process was delayed after the CBFC’s examining committee reportedly recommended changes to the documentary-style concert feature.

As per reports, the Indian team of Paramount Pictures subsequently approached its US headquarters to seek approval for the proposed modifications. It further said that the CBFC’s Examining Committee asked for several cuts in the documentary. The Paramount Pictures team in India then decided to inform the US head office and seek approval on whether the changes suggested by the Censor Board could be made.

The source added that the US team later reviewed the recommendations and approved the changes, though the process resulted in delays to the film’s certification.

The makers are now targeting a May 15 release in India, subject to the completion of the CBFC process.

The concert film is based on Billie Eilish’s ongoing ‘Hit Me Hard And Soft’ tour and marks the singer’s third concert film release.

Eilish, a multiple Grammy, Academy Award and Golden Globe winner, enjoys a strong global fan following for her music and live performances.

The film has reportedly been directed and produced by James Cameron and Billie Eilish.
