AR Rahman reacts to mismanagement of concert, organisers issue apology

The organisers had oversold the tickets, with many fans not being able to attend the concert

Music maestro AR Rahman responded to the chaos and confusion during his highly anticipated concert ‘Marakkuma Nenjam’ on the night of Sept 10.

The organisers of the show, ACTC Events issued a statement thanking Rahman for his show and apologised to the fans who could not attend their concert due to the confusion over entry.

Rahman shared ACTC’s post without any comment and also reposted a message of a fan thanking him for the memorable event.

The oscar-winner composer also took to X to apologise to fans with a screenshot of his tweet that read, “Dearest Chennai Makkale, those of you who purchased tickets and weren’t able to enter owing to unfortunate circumstances, please do share a copy of your ticket purchase to arr4chennai@btos.in along with your grievances. Our team will respond asap @BToSproductions @actcevents”

The caption for his post read, “Some people call me G.O.A.T …………let me be the sacrificial goat this time for all of us to wake up ..let chennai’s live art flourish with a world class infrastructure, increase in tourism, efficient crowd management, traffic management, refining audiences to follow rules ..creating a safe and surreal experience for children and women ..Triggering a cultural renaissance at chennai celebrating our deserving, illuminated local and international talent! 

Fans complained that the tickets were oversold

It may be noted that many fans turned furious after they could not make an entry to the programme venue and had complained that the show was oversold and that it was a major failure on the part of the organisers.

The concert happened at Adityaram palace, Chennai. Many fans were disappointed and furious at not being able to attend the concert due to overcrowding.

Fans who had bought tickets at rates of ₹2000 were also not able to enter and many complained about the mismanagement of the event. They also blamed AR Rahman’s team for the mismanagement.
