Anupam Kher, Sanjay Dutt, other celebrities mourn Ajit Pawar’s death after Baramati plane crash

Celebrities from the film and sports fraternity expressed shock and grief over the death of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP chief Ajit Pawar, who died in a plane crash near Baramati on Wednesday.

Actor Ajay Devgn said he was “shocked and saddened” by Pawar’s passing and extended heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. He described the loss as immense and ended his message with a prayer for peace.

Veteran actor Anupam Kher said he was deeply shocked and saddened by the tragedy, recalling Pawar as gentle and kind in their interactions. He said his thoughts were with Pawar’s family during the difficult time.

Actor Riteish Deshmukh described Pawar as one of Maharashtra’s most dynamic leaders. In a detailed tribute, Deshmukh said Pawar was known for his zero tolerance for non-performance, sharp wit and ability to constantly push and inspire people around him. He said Pawar’s untimely demise had left an irreplaceable void and remembered him for the kindness he had shown over several interactions. Deshmukh extended his deepest condolences to the Pawar family, loved ones and supporters.

Rajpal Yadav took on his Instagram story and wrote “Gone too soon, Om shanti”

Sanjay Dutt described Pawar as a dynamic leader and wrote on X  “Shocked and saddened by this tragic loss. He was one of the most dynamic leaders, leaving behind a lasting impact. My deepest condolences to the family and everyone affected. Prayers for strength and peace. Om Shanti 🙏” 

Actress Shilpa Shetty penned on the photo-sharing app, "Heartfelt condolences to the Pawar family. Rest in power, Ajith dada. Last a dynamic daring leader. Om Shanti."

Ajit Pawar died when the aircraft he was travelling in crashed while attempting to land near Baramati. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
