After Sanjay Dutt apologised in the ‘Sarke Chunar’ song controversy, Nora Fatehi reportedly appeared before the National Commission for Women (NCW) and issued an apology. The controversy revolves around the alleged indecent portrayal of women in the film song Sarke Chunar. As per reports, Nora explained that she never wanted to hurt sentiments, adding that she was put in that situation. She also issued an apology over the matter.

Nora reportedly appeared before the commission in Delhi. She had earlier distanced herself for the Hindi version of the song, clarifying that she had only shot for the Kannada version, and that her consent was not sought before it was adapted into Hindi.

Nora reportedly revealed that she has submitted a written apology, adding that she understands the responsibility that comes with being a public figure, adding that as a corrective step, she has now decided to sponsor the education of orphaned girls.

Last month itself, actor Sanjay Dutt appeared before the NCW, for the same controversy, expressing regret for the unintended harm that was caused, adding about the commitment to sponsor the education of 50 tribal girl children as an effort towards social welfare and women empowerment.
