Actor Tannishtha Chatterjee thanks industry friends as she reveals stage 4 cancer fight

Actor Tannishtha Chatterjee, who is known for films like ‘Parched’ and ‘Angry Indian Goddesses’, was diagnosed of stage 4 oligo metastatic cancer, according to her Instagram post.
“So the last 8 months have been incredibly difficult- to put it mildly. As if loosing my father to Cancer was not enough.
8 months back I got diagnosed of stage 4 oligo metastatic Cancer,” she said, posting a picture of herself.
“But this post is not about Pain.Its about love and strength.
It can’t get worse than this. A 70yr old mother and 9 year all daughter .. both totally dependent on me,” she added.
Thanking her family and friends of their “unwavering support”, she said that in a world “racing towards AI and robots, it’s the irreplaceable compassion of real, passionate humans that is saving me”.
“Cheers to female friendships, the sisterhood that showed up for me with fierce love, deep empathy, and unstoppable strength. You know who you are – and I am endlessly grateful,” she concluded.
She thanked who’s who of the industry, including Shabana Azmi, Dia Mirza, Sandhya Mridul, Konkon Sen Sharma, Divya Dutta, Urmila Matondkar, Richa Chadha, Sanjay Suri, Onir, Shahana Goswami, Vidya Balan, Tanvi Azmi, Ali Fazal, Deepti Gupta, Anuradha Shetty, Sunita Rajwar, and Leena Yadav.
Not only an accomplished actor, Chatterjee is also known for her directorial debut ‘Roam Rome Mein’, featuring National Award-winning actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, was screened at Busan International Film Festival and won an award at the prestigious festival.
She won the Asian Star Award at the 24th edition of the festival, an achievement she counted back then as a ‘huge moment’ for her team for the hard work they all put into the making of the film.
Tannishtha’s film featured Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead along with Valentina Corti, Isha Talwar, Francesco Apolloni, UrBano Barberini, Pamela Villoresi, Andrea Scarduzio. The film was multilingual, in Hindi, English and Italian.
