Aamir Khan Responds to ‘Love Jihad’ Criticism, Says Neither of Ex-Wives Changed Religion

Actor Aamir Khan has responded to criticism surrounding his marriage to Gauri Spratt, rejecting claims made by some groups after their wedding. The actor said his family has always respected interfaith marriages and that neither of his wives changed their religion after marrying him.

Aamir Addresses Criticism

Speaking to a news outlet, Aamir said his family has always been accepting of people from different faiths.

He pointed out that both his sisters are married to Hindu men, his daughter is married to a Hindu, and his cousin Mansoor is married to a Christian woman. Aamir also said that Gauri, as well as his former wives Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao, did not change their religion because all of their marriages were civil marriages.

‘Gauri Is A Christian’

Clarifying speculation surrounding his latest marriage, Aamir said Gauri Spratt is a Christian and has not converted after marrying him.

He added that Gauri does not strictly follow religious practices and said that, with time, life has become more interesting.

Actor Dismisses Skyvilla Rumours

Aamir also responded to reports claiming he was building a ₹100 crore multi-generational Skyvilla in Mumbai’s Bandra West.

He said the apartment complex where he owns a flat is undergoing redevelopment as part of a housing society decision. According to Aamir, the society has 24 members, including a builder who owns several flats in the building.

A look At Aamir’s Marriages

Aamir was first married to Reena Dutta, with whom he has two children, Junaid and Ira Khan. He later married filmmaker Kiran Rao, and the two have a son, Azad.

On July 5, Aamir married businesswoman Gauri Spratt in the presence of family and close friends. Gauri has a seven-year-old son from her previous marriage.
