The 83rd Golden Globe Awards, marking the opening ceremony of the Hollywood awards season, were held at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, on Sunday night.

For the first time, the Golden Globes expanded their honours beyond film and television to include podcasts, introducing a brand-new category at this year’s ceremony.

Comedian Nikki Glaser returned as host after making history last year as the first woman to emcee the prestigious awards. Her comeback was one of several highlights of an evening that brought together some of the industry’s biggest names.

Actor and producer Priyanka Chopra Jonas was among the presenters, alongside Julia Roberts, George Clooney, Mila Kunis, Ana de Armas and Jennifer Garner.

Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘One Battle After Another’ led the nominations with nine nods and went on to secure four major awards. The Leonardo DiCaprio-starrer won Best Film – Musical or Comedy, while Anderson picked up trophies for Best Director and Best Screenplay. Teyana Taylor was also honoured with the Best Supporting Actor (Female) award.

On the television front, ‘Adolescence’ emerged as the dominant winner, claiming four awards, including Best Limited Series. Stephen Graham won Best Actor, while Owen Cooper and Erin Doherty took home Best Supporting Actor (Male) and Best Supporting Actor (Female), respectively.

Amy Poehler made history by winning the inaugural Golden Globe for Best Podcast for ‘Good Hang With Amy Poehler’.

Other notable winners across film and television included Timothée Chalamet, who won Best Male Actor – Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for ‘Marty Supreme’, Seth Rogen for Best Male Actor in a Television Musical or Comedy for ‘The Studio’, and ‘Sinners’, which received the Golden Globe for Best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.
