Pushpa 2: The Rule – ₹1,719.5 crore

‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ is a Telugu action drama set to release in 2024, directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers. Starring Allu Arjun as Pushpa Raj, a coolie who becomes a sandalwood smuggler, with Rashmika Mandanna playing his wife.

This film is the sequel to ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ (2021) and continues the story as Pushpa faces tough opposition from enemies. 

Announced in 2021, ‘Pushpa 2’ became the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024.

Kalki 2898 AD – ₹1,100 to 1,200 crore

Kalki 2898 AD is a Telugu sci-fi action film directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Vyjayanthi Movies. The film features a star-studded cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani.

The story takes place in the year 2898, in a post-apocalyptic world, where a group of people must protect an unborn child, Kalki. 

With a ₹600 crore budget, it became the most expensive Indian film and earned over ₹1,000 crore globally, setting box-office records.

Stree 2 – ₹874.58 crore

‘Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank’ is a Hindi comedy horror film set to release in 2024, directed by Amar Kaushik. This sequel to ‘Stree’ (2018) continues the story of a group of friends, featuring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, and others, as they confront Sarkata, a headless figure who is kidnapping women in Chanderi.

Released on August 15, 2024, it received positive reviews and earned over ₹874 crore worldwide, making it the highest-grossing Hindi film of the year.

The Greatest of All Time – ₹440 crore to456 crore

The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) is a Tamil action thriller directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by AGS Entertainment.

The film features Vijay in dual roles, along with a large ensemble cast, and tells the story of Gandhi, a former anti-terrorism squad leader, who reunites with his team to address unresolved issues from their past.

It premiered on September 5, 2024, with a budget of ₹380 crore to ₹400 crore, it became the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2024.

Devara: Part 1 – over ₹500 crore

Devara: Part 1 is a Telugu action drama set to release in 2024, directed by Koratala Siva and produced by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts.

The film features NTR Jr in dual roles, alongside Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor, who are making their Telugu debuts. The story revolves around Devara, a village leader, who finds himself in conflict with rival Bhaira over arms smuggling in the Red Sea.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 – ₹417.51 crore

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' is a Hindi comedy horror film, which was directed by Anees Bazmee and is produced by T-Series Films. The third part of the franchise with stars Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit, and Triptii Dimri, and it was filmed in Kolkata. 

Singham Again – ₹389.64 crore

Singham Again is a 2024 Hindi action film directed by Rohit Shetty and co-produced by Reliance Entertainment and Jio Studios. 

Starring Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Kareena Kapoor, and Deepika Padukone, it is the fifth film in Shetty’s Cop Universe. 

Fighter – ₹344.46 crore

Fighter is a 2024 Hindi action film directed by Siddharth Anand, featuring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor.

The movie is inspired by military events like the 2019 Pulwama attack and Balakot airstrike, and it marks the beginning of an aerial action franchise.

Amaran – ₹335 crore

Amaran is a 2024 Tamil biographical action war film directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, starring Sivakarthikeyan as Major Mukund Varadarajan, alongside Sai Pallavi, Rahul Bose, and Bhuvan Arora. 

The story is based on the book series India's Most Fearless. The film is narrated by Mukund's wife, Indhu, who recalls his life while heading to receive his posthumous Ashoka Chakra award.

Hanu-Man – ₹301 crore to 350 crore

Hanu-Man is a 2024 Telugu superhero film directed by Prasanth Varma and produced by Primeshow Entertainment. 

The cast features Teja Sajja as Hanumanthu who gets Hanuman's powers to save the village Anjanadri from the villain Michael. The film features Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Samuthirakani in other prominent roles.
