Drunk Youth Climbs Water Tank in Daman After an Argument, Firefighters Carry Out Rescue

A drunken youth climbed a water tank near the seashore in Daman on Thursday evening, triggering panic among locals and tourists before firefighters safely brought him down.

Altercation Turns Into Public Disturbance

The incident took place near Parkota Street, close to the seashore, where the youth was reportedly walking when he became involved in an argument with another person.

According to the information available, the situation escalated during the altercation, with the youth allegedly slapping the other individual while under the influence of alcohol.

The incident then took an unexpected turn when the youth climbed the nearby water tank.

Youth Hangs From Tank Railing

Once on top of the water tank, the youth reportedly began shouting and hurling abuses while holding on to the railing at a considerable height.

He also allegedly made remarks targeting people from Bihar, adding to the disturbance in the area.

His precarious position quickly attracted the attention of people nearby. Locals and tourists gathered around the water tank as concerns grew that he could lose his balance or take a dangerous step.

The crowd watched anxiously as the intoxicated man continued creating a commotion from the elevated position.

Police and Fire Brigade Rush to Spot

After receiving information about the incident, police personnel and a fire brigade team reached the spot.

Firefighters approached the situation carefully, as any sudden movement by the youth could have resulted in a fall. The team attempted to calm him and persuaded him to come down safely.

After sustained efforts, firefighters successfully brought the youth down from the water tank without any reported injury.
