Following the Indian Army’s cross-border strikes on terrorist camps in Pakistan during the early hours of Wednesday, multiple film production companies – including Reliance Industries – have rushed to get trademark ‘Operation Sindoor’.

According to information sourced from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, at least six trademark applications have been filed for the phrase ‘Operation Sindoor’ under the entertainment category. Applicants include major production houses and corporate entities looking to secure rights for its use across a wide range of content formats including films, web series, documentaries, live events, podcasts, music productions, and cultural exhibitions.

The scope of the trademark filings is broad, covering not only traditional film and TV content but also digital platforms, live entertainment, music festivals, video-on-demand services, and audio-visual programming delivered via the internet and mobile networks.

If approved, the trademark could be used for everything from war dramas and patriotic films to multimedia series and branded entertainment events – potentially across global markets.

As public interest surges around Operation Sindoor, the entertainment industry appears eager to capitalise on its powerful symbolism and real-world impact.
