Fans of BTS have a sweet surprise to look forward to as Oreo has announced a special collaboration with the world-famous K-pop group. The limited-edition cookies combine Oreo’s signature taste with elements inspired by BTS and Korean culture, making them a unique treat for fans.

One of the most eye-catching features of the new cookies is their bright purple wafer. It is the first time Oreo has used purple for its cookies, a color closely associated with BTS and its fan community, known as the BTS Army. The color represents the phrase “I purple you,” a popular expression among BTS fans that symbolizes love, trust and support.

The cookies are filled with a brown sugar pancake-flavored creme inspired by hotteok, a traditional Korean street snack. According to the company, hotteok was a favorite childhood treat of the BTS members, making it a meaningful addition to the collaboration.

To mark BTS’s 13th anniversary, the cookies feature 13 different embossed designs. These include the names of the band members, messages dedicated to the BTS Army, the group’s iconic lightstick and the finger-heart gesture that has become a symbol of K-pop culture around the world.

In a statement, BTS said they grew up eating Oreos and are proud to share a flavor connected to their Korean roots through this global partnership. Oreo’s parent company, Mondelez, revealed that the cookie took nearly two years to develop, with several flavor options considered before hotteok was selected.

The limited-edition cookies will be available for pre-sale starting June 1 through Oreo’s website at and are expected to reach retail stores from June 8 for a limited time. With BTS’s massive global fanbase, the special cookies are expected to be in high demand.

The collaboration celebrates both BTS’s global influence and the growing popularity of Korean culture worldwide.
