Adani is India's richest man, but not one company of group in Top 10 tax-paying companies

Gautam Adani, the richest man in India and one of the world’s richest men, heads the Adani Group with a net worth of ₹11.61 lakh crore in 2024. Despite this, no company of the Adani Group features among the top 10 tax-paying businesses in India.
The list features two Tata companies, Reliance Industries, public sector and private banks, and even three government ventures.
However, none of the nine companies of the Adani Group listed in the stock market, including the conglomerate’s flagship Adani Enterprises, are named in the list.
According to Press Information Bureau figures, the total corporate tax collected in 2023-24 stands ₹11.32 lakh crore, an increase of 13.06% compared to last year’s ₹10 lakh crore.
Net corporate tax collection rose by 10.26% to ₹9.11 lakh crore.
