Nikesh Arora’s daughter Ayesha to marry Jack Hughes but not the NHL star

The wedding celebrations of Ayesha Arora, daughter of billionaire tech executive Nikesh Arora, have drawn widespread attention but not just for their grandeur. The high-profile ceremony in Jodhpur has triggered confusion online after many social media users mistakenly identified the groom, Jack Hughes, as the American NHL star of the same name.
The assumption quickly gained traction, with several posts linking the wedding to the New Jersey Devils player and Olympic gold medallist. However, that speculation has now been clarified. The groom is not the professional ice hockey player.
According to confirmation shared with Forbes by NHL star Jack Hughes’ agent, Pat Brisson, the athlete is not connected to the wedding. The similarity in names led to the mix-up. Reports indicate that the hockey player is currently in a private relationship with singer Tate McRae.
Photographs circulating online, including images from a professional photography website, show Ayesha Arora and her father alongside a man named Jack Hughes. Observers noted clear physical differences between him and the NHL player, confirming that they are two separate individuals who simply share the same name.
Nikesh Arora, who has led cybersecurity firm Palo Alto Networks as chairman and CEO since 2018, is one of the most prominent Indian-origin executives in global tech. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles at companies such as Google, T-Mobile International, and SoftBank.
Ayesha Arora is his daughter from his first marriage. Arora later married Delhi-based businesswoman Ayesha Thapar in 2014, and the couple has a son.
While the wedding remains a grand and closely followed event, the mistaken identity surrounding the groom has added an unexpected twist to the celebrations.
