New doubts have come up about the death of Jeffrey Epstein, the rich businessman who was in jail for sex-trafficking charges. A doctor who watched his autopsy says Epstein may not have died by suicide, but by strangulation, accroding to reports.

Dr Michael Baden, a well-known forensic expert, recently said in an interview with the Telegraph that injuries on Epstein’s neck looked more like strangulation than hanging. He reportedly explained that some bones in neck were broken in a way that is uncommon in normal suicide hangings.

Epstein was found dead in August 2019 in his jail cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City. At that time, officials said he died by suicide and called it a case quickly became contriversial because of security failures in the jail, including broken camera and guards who didi not check on him properly.

Dr Baden was present during the autopsy as an observer for Epstein’s family. He has repeatedly said that medical findings raised serious questions about official conclusions.

Despite these doubts, official ruling by the New York medical examiner still remains suicide. Authorities have not reopened the investigation, but the case continues to create public debate and conspiracy theories around the world.
