IMF projects India to be fastest growing economy in the world

With an impressive projected growth rate of 7%, India is leading the pack for the fastest growing economies of the world, leaving behind heavyweights like China and USA.
India, currently the fifth largest economy of the world, is likely to surpass China’s projected growth rate of 5% and USA’s 2.6%, according to overview of the World Economic Outlook Projections by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
India, projected to be on top in terms of growth rate, is likely to be followed by China, Indonesia (5%), Turkey (3.6%), and Russia (3.2%).
USA, on the other hand lags on the seventh place with a projected rate of 2.6%.

Looking back, India had a strong 2023 with the economic growth rate of 8.2%, whereas China stood at 5.2%. Both south Asian giants, thus, have seen a decline in the projected rate, yet top the table. USA, compared to these two, had a 2.5% of growth rate last year.
