Gujarat Gearing Up for Vibrant Gujarat 2027: Government Sets Up 13 High-Powered Panels to Drive Mega Investment Summit

The Gujarat government has officially set the wheels in motion for the 11th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS), scheduled to take place in January 2027. Ahead of the mega biennial event, the administration issued a government resolution constituting 13 dedicated functional committees. These specialized panels will oversee complex logistical, security, operational, and business networking arrangements to ensure seamless execution when heads of state, global business leaders, and diplomatic delegations arrive in Gandhinagar.

According to a resolution issued by the state's Industries and Mines Department, the committees bring together top bureaucrats and senior administrative officers to manage every aspect of the flagship investment gathering.

Logistics, Venues, and Security Take Priority

Managing the massive influx of international delegates will require precise coordination across key infrastructure hubs.

• Venue and Event Management: Rajkumar Beniwal, Managing Director of Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Company Ltd (GNFC), will lead the Venue, Event, and Access Management Committee. This panel is tasked with managing access controls, venue setup, seating arrangements, and organizing the inaugural and valedictory ceremonies at Mahatma Mandir, alongside theme and country-specific seminars.

• Exhibition Planning: The crucial Exhibition Committee, which will plan and execute the trade showcases at the Helipad Exhibition Centre (HEC) in Gandhinagar, is headed by Hareet Shukla, Principal Secretary in the General Administration Department.

• Security Setup: Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar will see extensive security arrangements managed by the Law and Order and Security Committee, led by Director General of Police (DGP) G S Malik. The panel will cover route security, venue safety, and designated parking arrangements. A separate Traffic and Parking Committee will be co-chaired by the Additional Director General (Law & Order) and the Home Secretary.

• Transit Infrastructure: Lochan Sehra, Secretary of Labour, Skill Development, and Employment, heads the Airport Facility Committee to manage delegate arrivals and receptions at both Ahmedabad and Vadodara international airports. Meanwhile, Kuldeep Arya, Secretary of Tourism, will oversee protocol, transportation, accommodation, and curated excursion visits.

High-Stakes Business Meetings and MoU Tracking

At its core, the Vibrant Gujarat summit functions as a major engine for economic tie-ups and investment commitments. To ensure smooth interactions between investors and state leadership, several panels have been assigned distinct business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) responsibilities.

Sanjeev Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, will lead the One-to-One Meetings Committee, scheduling high-level discussions involving the Prime Minister and the Gujarat Chief Minister. Business-to-government interactions with officials from the Centre and other Indian states fall under the B2B/B2G Meetings Committee, headed by Milind Torawane, Principal Secretary of Primary and Secondary Education.

To handle investment agreements signed during the event, a dedicated committee chaired by Ashwani Kumar, Principal Secretary for Environment and Climate Change, will track, coordinate, and manage all Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) activities.

The summit will also feature a series of parallel events, global showcases, and outreach initiatives led by senior state officials:

• Seminars & Global Coordination: Avantika Singh Aulakh, Managing Director of Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Ltd (GSPC), will head the Seminars Committee to organise country and state sessions while coordinating with Indian and foreign diplomatic missions.

• GIFT City & Crafts Showcase: Mohammad Shahid, Principal Secretary for Cottage and Rural Industries, takes charge of the Gifting, Souvenir, Global Crafts Showcase, and GIFT City Event Committee. Shahid will also head the Documentation Committee, managing rapporteur teams, official guest records, and media archiving.
