Ex-employee files lawsuit against JPMorgan senior exec, bank claims internal probe found no evidence

A former employee at JPMorgan Chase named Chirayu Rana has filed a lawsuit alleging workplace harassment under the pseudonym John Doe at the New York County Supreme Court. The complaint accuses senior executive Lorna Hajdini of sexual misconduct and coercion.
As per the reports, Rana claimed he was subjected to inappropriate behaviour and pressure during his tenure, with alleged incidents beginning in early 2024. He later filed an internal complaint in May 2025, also raising allegations of discrimination based on race and gender.
However, JPMorgan has said its internal investigation did not find evidence supporting the claims. The firm stated that it reviewed communications and interviewed staff but could not substantiate the allegations, adding that the complainant did not fully cooperate or provide sufficient details.
Hajdini too has denied all accusations.
Fresh details reported by the New York Post indicate that Hajdini was not the direct supervisor of Rana, despite his claims that she influenced his career progression. Sources told the publication that Hajdini reported to managing director Brandon Graffeo, while Rana worked under a different managing director.
A colleague, quoted in the report, described Rana as ‘socially awkward’ but said he still met the expectations required to remain employed at the bank.
Separately, the Daily Mail had earlier reported details from the original court filing, which was later withdrawn for corrections. The now-retracted document for corrections had alleged that Hajdini appeared at Rana’s apartment without notice and forced him into sexual encounters.
Rana has also accused the company of retaliation and questioned the fairness of the internal investigation.
The case continues to evolve, with further legal clarity awaited.
