A lawsuit has been filed against Apple in a California federal court for allegedly recording private conversations and sending them to third parties, as per reports.

Apple mobile device users complained that their private conversations were recorded when they unintentionally activated Siri, and those conversations were subsequently shared with advertisers.

According to reports, the plaintiffs noted that after mentioning specific restaurants or products in their conversations, they would immediately see ads related to those topics in their feeds, which were part of their private discussions.

In response to the lawsuit, Apple has reportedly offered a settlement of $95 million to resolve the issue.

The settlement still needs to be approved by the U S District Judge Jeffrey White, and Apple has reportedly not admitted to any wrongdoing in the terms of the settlement.

According to reports, lawyers have proposed that a hearing be conducted on February 14 to review the terms of the settlement.

A similar case of google voice assistant is also pending in the court where the Google’s Voice assistant has been alleged of recording the private conversations wrongfully.
