A 40-year-old woman from Ahmedabad’s Khanpur area allegedly used a GPS tracker fitted to her husband’s motorcycle to investigate her suspicions about his alleged relationships with other women. Her suspicions were reportedly confirmed when the tracker led her to a hotel on Airport Road, where she allegedly found her husband with another woman.

According to the complaint filed at the West Women Police Station, the husband allegedly pushed his wife to the ground when she confronted him outside the hotel and then helped the other woman leave the spot in an autorickshaw. Police have registered a case and started an investigation.

GPS Tracker Helps Woman Confirm Suspicion

The woman alleged that she had faced physical and mental harassment from her husband, Sohel Pathan, over dowry-related issues since their marriage in 2012.

According to the complaint, her father had allegedly given ₹2.70 lakh in cash and 7.5 tolas of gold towards the purchase of a flat in Khanpur.

The woman later became suspicious that her husband was maintaining relationships with other women. She subsequently fitted a GPS tracker to his motorcycle to monitor its location.

Husband’s Phone and Shop CCTV Switched Off

On May 31, the woman allegedly noticed that her husband had switched off the CCTV cameras at his shop as well as his mobile phone.

When the phone was switched on later in the afternoon, the GPS tracker showed the motorcycle’s location at a hotel on Airport Road. The woman immediately travelled to the location with her three children.

Woman Allegedly Finds Husband With Another Woman

The woman allegedly found her husband outside the hotel with an unidentified woman on his motorcycle. When she confronted him and asked about the woman, he allegedly first claimed that she was his “second wife”.

He later allegedly told her that he planned to marry the woman soon.

When the wife objected, the husband allegedly pushed her to the ground and, amid heavy traffic, helped the other woman leave the area in an autorickshaw.

The woman subsequently called 112, following which police reached the spot.

Earlier GPS Locations Led to Gandhigram Hotel

The complaint also mentions two earlier occasions when the GPS tracker allegedly showed the husband’s motorcycle at a hotel in Gandhigram — on March 1 and April 4, 2025.

On those occasions, the woman reportedly went to the hotel with a relative and found her husband’s motorcycle parked there. However, the hotel manager allegedly refused to provide CCTV footage, while the husband reportedly left the premises in a hurry.

Woman Keeps Watch After Earlier Attempts

Despite the locations and other indications, the woman alleged that her husband continued to deny the allegations.

On May 31, after noticing that both his shop CCTV system and phone had been switched off, she became alert. When the GPS tracker showed the exact location of the Airport Road hotel, she reached the spot with her three children and allegedly confronted him.

The woman also alleged that attempts by family members to resolve the matter failed, after which her husband threatened to divorce her.

She subsequently approached the West Women Police Station, where a complaint was registered against her husband. Police are investigating the allegations.
