Government School Teacher Arrested Over Sexual Assault of Four Female Students in Amreli

A government school teacher in Gujarat’s Amreli district has been arrested after families of female students accused him of raping one student and sexually assaulting three others in Jafrabad taluka, police said.

The accused, identified as Ramshankar Pandya, was arrested after the students reportedly disclosed the alleged incidents to their families, who approached the police and lodged a complaint.

Case Registered Under POCSO Act

Following the complaint, police registered a case against Pandya late at night under relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and laws relating to rape.

Police took action after the students’ families approached the police station and sought action against the teacher.

Further Investigation Underway

Jafrabad division Deputy Superintendent of Police Naina Goradia said the complaint alleged that Pandya had sexually assaulted three female students and raped another.

Police are questioning the accused and investigating the allegations. They are also examining whether other students may have been affected.

The investigation is ongoing.
