3-Year-Old Swept Away in Rainwater Stream Near Amreli Village; Search Operation Underway for Over Three Hours

A three-year-old girl was swept away in a rain-swollen stream near Malaviya Pipariya village in Lathi taluka of Amreli district on Thursday afternoon after a sudden surge in water flow, officials said. Rescue teams have been searching for the child for more than three hours.

According to initial information, the incident occurred when water levels in a stream near the village rose suddenly following heavy rainfall. The three-year-old girl, identified as Nandani, was caught in the strong current and swept away.

The incident has left the family, who work as agricultural labourers, devastated.

After being alerted, personnel from the Fire Department and the local administration rushed to the spot and launched a search operation.

Rescue teams have been combing the watercourse for over three hours. However, the child had not been traced at the time of filing this report.
