Vinzol Flat Burglary: Thieves Steal Gold And Silver Jewellery Worth ₹7.63 Lakh

A family’s temple visit to Bhabhar ended with a burglary at their locked flat in Vinzol, Ahmedabad, after thieves broke into the residence at Shrifal Enclave on SP Ring Road and escaped with gold and silver jewellery and cash worth ₹7.63 lakh. Vatva GIDC police have registered a case against unidentified thieves and launched an investigation.

Family left for Bhabhar on September 11

Nitinbhai Rasikbhai Soni, 38, a resident of Shrifal Enclave who works as a goldsmith in Vinobabhavenagar, had left Ahmedabad with his family for Bhabhar in Banaskantha at around 10 pm on September 11 to visit a temple.

At around 4.30 am on September 13, their neighbour Maheshbhai Soni, who lives on the fifth floor, called the family and informed them that the lock of their flat had been broken.

Nitinbhai returned to Ahmedabad at around 9 am and found the belongings inside the flat scattered. The lock of the safe had also been broken.

Gold, silver jewellery and cash stolen

During an inspection, the family found that valuables kept inside the safe were missing. The stolen items included around 66.5 grams of gold jewellery worth ₹6.65 lakh, 480 grams of silver jewellery valued at ₹48,000, and ₹50,000 in cash.

The total value of the stolen property was estimated at ₹7.63 lakh.

Police suspect prior surveillance

Following Nitinbhai’s complaint, Vatva GIDC police registered a case against unidentified persons and began investigating the burglary.

The family had been away for around two days, and the thieves specifically targeted their third-floor flat. Police are examining whether the house was surveyed beforehand and whether the accused had information about the family’s absence.

Police are conducting further investigation to identify and trace the thieves.
