Two Men Found Dead In Vatva Amid Heavy Rain, Electrocution Suspected

Two young men were found dead on a road leading to Gamthi village in Ahmedabad's Vatva area amid heavy rain on Friday morning, with police suspecting electrocution as a possible cause of death.

The deceased have been identified as Rajnikantbhai Chauhan, 27, a resident of Shahwadi in Narol, and Deepakbhai Parmar, 37, of Jamalpur.

According to the police, the two men, who were friends, had left their homes on a motorcycle on Thursday, telling their families that they were going to carry out an air-conditioner repair job.

Their bodies were found on the road leading towards Gamthi village on Friday morning, following which Vatva police reached the spot and began an investigation.

Police said no external injury marks were found on either body during the preliminary inspection.

Electrocution is suspected amid the heavy rain, but police said no live electrical wires were found at the scene. The exact cause of death will be established after the post-mortem examination and forensic science laboratory (FSL) reports are received.

Meanwhile, investigators are examining CCTV footage from the area and checking the men's mobile phone location data to establish their movements before their deaths.

Police said the investigation is underway and further details will emerge after the forensic examination.
