Truck Driver Taken Into Custody After Wrong-Side Collision in Ahmedabad Kills Motorcyclist

A 23-year-old motorcyclist died on the spot and his friend suffered injuries after a truck allegedly travelling on the wrong side of the road slammed into their two-wheeler near Anjali Bridge in the early hours of Tuesday.

The fatal crash occurred around 4 am on September 15. Milan Vaghela, 23, who was riding the motorcycle, was killed instantly in the collision. His friend Kuldeep, who was riding pillion, sustained injuries and is receiving treatment.

Investigation Underway

Officers from the N Division Traffic Police have initiated the process of registering a case and are investigating the exact circumstances that led to the head-on crash.

Preliminary findings indicate that the truck was being driven on the wrong side of the road when it struck the victims' motorcycle.

Investigators are examining the crash site near Anjali Bridge to reconstruct the sequence of events. Local police are also verifying whether speed or driver fatigue contributed to the vehicle crossing into oncoming traffic.

The incident highlights persistent concerns over road safety and wrong-side driving across urban stretches.

Traffic officials noted that such violations become exceptionally hazardous during the early morning hours due to reduced visibility and unpredictable road conditions. Authorities continue to gather preliminary evidence as part of the ongoing probe into the collision.
