Tragic Domestic Dispute in Nava Vadaj: Man Allegedly Bludgeoned to Death by Younger Brother

A domestic dispute spiralled into violence in the Nava Vadaj area of Ahmedabad on Thursday evening, leaving a man dead and his younger brother in police custody. Vadaj police officers detained the suspect within hours of the fatal assault and are currently piecing together the events that led to the killing.

The deceased has been identified as Naresh Chauhan, a resident of Bhimsinghni Chali near Gandhinagar Tekra. Police officers confirmed that his younger brother, Raju Ratilal Chauhan, was picked up shortly after the crime and is being interrogated.

Repeated Quarrels over Alcohol Fuelled Deadly Clash

Preliminary investigations suggest the family had been grappling with frequent domestic friction. Neighbours and relatives told police that Naresh regularly returned home in an inebriated state, leading to frequent heated arguments with family members.

On Thursday evening, another intense verbal confrontation broke out between the brothers. The argument escalated rapidly, turning physical before Raju allegedly launched a violent assault that killed Naresh on the spot.

Vadaj police teams rushed to Bhimsinghni Chali soon after receiving the alert, securing the scene and sending the body for a post-mortem examination.

Forensic Probe and Interrogations Underway

While investigators view frequent disputes triggered by alcohol consumption as the immediate trigger, officers said they are probing every angle to uncover the exact motive behind the homicide.

The Vadaj police station is registering a formal case of murder. Investigators are recording statements from family members and local residents who were present in the vicinity during the incident. Further legal procedures against Raju Chauhan will follow as the probe progresses.
