Tiranga Yatra to Affect Ahmedabad Bus Services; 19 AMTS, 5 BRTS Routes Shortened

Public transport services in Ahmedabad will be affected on Wednesday, August 12, due to a Tiranga Yatra planned from Raipur Darwaja to Sarangpur Darwaja. The restrictions will affect several AMTS and BRTS routes, potentially causing inconvenience to thousands of daily commuters.

As part of the traffic arrangements for the yatra, 19 AMTS routes and five BRTS routes will be shortened from 2 pm until the conclusion of the procession.

Five BRTS Routes Shortened

The RTO Circular route will operate only between RTO Circle and Government Litho Press Cabin.

Buses on routes from Sanand Circle to Sarangpur Darwaja, Narol to Sarangpur Darwaja, Odhav S.P. Ring Road to ISKCON Cross Road, and Odhav S.P. Ring Road to LD Engineering College will also be shortened, with the affected services operating only up to designated points such as Astodia Darwaja.

During the period, five BRTS stations or cabins will remain closed, including Kalupur Ghee Bazaar, Kalupur Railway Station, Sarangpur Darwaja, Karnamukteshwar Mahadev and Raipur Darwaja.

19 AMTS Routes Shortened, 38 Diverted

The AMTS will shorten 19 routes and divert 38 routes during the Tiranga Yatra. The affected routes include buses passing through the Raipur Darwaja-Sarangpur Darwaja stretch.

The changes will remain in place from 2 pm until the procession concludes.

AMTS Records Highest-Ever Daily Ridership

Meanwhile, AMTS recorded its highest-ever daily passenger count on Monday, with 6,31,761 passengers travelling on its red buses in a single day.

The record ridership generated revenue of approximately ₹39.77 lakh, making it the highest daily passenger and revenue figure recorded by the Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service so far.
