Three Men Attack Chandkheda Paan Parlour Owner and Vandalise Shop Property, Sabarmati Police Register Case

A 24-year-old paan parlour operator was assaulted, verbally abused, and threatened by three men who vandalised his shop property in Chandkheda’s Yoginagar area late on Thursday night.

Dharmik Singh Chauhan, who started operating the Jai Mataji Paan Parlour on Chandkheda D-Cabin Road just a week ago, lodged an official complaint at the Sabarmati police station following the incident.

Confrontation Over Shop Opening

The incident unfolded around 11.30 pm on August 20 near Yoginagar Char Rasta. According to Chauhan, an auto-rickshaw driver identified as Surmo Rawat parked outside the parlour and aggressively questioned him about opening the establishment.

Rawat demanded that Chauhan immediately close the shop and hurled verbal abuses. When Chauhan protested against the foul language, Rawat allegedly shoved him to the ground and struck him. Chauhan's elder brother stepped in to stop the physical assault, prompting Rawat to step aside and make a phone call.

Mob Escalation and Property Damage

Minutes later, two cars pulled up at the location. The occupants emerged carrying wooden sticks, restarted the barrage of abuses, and smashed a chair positioned outside the parlour premises, causing damage worth ₹500.

Sensing immediate danger, Chauhan managed to pull down the shop shutter while his brother alerted the police control room. The assailants fled the scene as soon as a police patrolling vehicle approached the spot.

Police Investigation Underway

Sabarmati Police have booked Rawat and his unidentified accomplices under relevant sections for assault, criminal intimidation, and rioting.

Investigating officers are scanning CCTV footage from surrounding commercial units along D-Cabin Road to trace the registration numbers of the two cars and establish the identities of the remaining suspects involved in the attack.
