Ahmedabad Rain: Waterlogging Reported Across Several Areas, Mohammadpura Underbridge On SP Ring Road

Heavy rainfall has caused widespread waterlogging across several parts of East Ahmedabad, disrupting traffic and making it difficult for commuters and local residents. The Mohammadpura underbridge on the SP Ring Road has been closed due to waterlogging, affecting movement on the busy route.

Hatkeshwar Temple Complex Shut

Water accumulated at the Khodiyar Temple complex near Hatkeshwar Circle, following which darshan for devotees was temporarily stopped.

Several areas in the Bhaipura-Hatkeshwar and Khokhra wards were also affected by waterlogging, causing significant inconvenience to motorists and residents.

132-Foot Ring Road Affected

The Udgam Archana High School campus in the Bhaipura-Hatkeshwar ward was inundated with rainwater, creating difficulties within the school premises.

Waterlogging was also reported at multiple points along the stretch from Hatkeshwar's 132-foot Ring Road to Guruji Bridge. Low-lying residential societies near the Kharicut Canal also witnessed accumulation of rainwater.

Traffic Jam Complaints Flood Control Rooms

Waterlogging at several locations led to traffic congestion across the city. Authorities received 28 calls on 112 and 37 calls on 1095 regarding traffic jams caused by waterlogging.

Three Vasna Barrage Gates Opened

The Vasna Barrage's three gates have been opened by 1.5 feet, while the river's water level currently stands at 129 feet.

Authorities are working to maintain the river level at around 126 feet to prevent further water accumulation in the city.
