‘She Teams’ Tie Rakhis To Gujarat DGP, Ahmedabad Police Commissioner On Raksha Bandhan

Gujarat Police’s ‘She Teams’ marked Raksha Bandhan by tying rakhis to Director General of Police G S Malik and Ahmedabad Police Commissioner Anupam Singh Gahlaut, highlighting the festival’s message of protection, trust and solidarity.

The ‘She Team’ attached to the Gujarat University Police Station tied a rakhi to Malik and wished him good health and long life. The DGP welcomed the gesture and appreciated the efforts of the women police personnel in ensuring the safety of women and citizens.

The Ahmedabad City Police’s ‘She Team’ also tied a rakhi to Commissioner Gahlaut during the festival celebrations.

Outreach To Senior Citizens

The Raksha Bandhan initiative extended beyond senior police officers, with ‘She Teams’ across Gujarat visiting the homes of senior citizens, senior police officers and retired police personnel.

During the visits, the women police personnel tied rakhis and celebrated the festival with the recipients.

The initiative was aimed at strengthening the bond between the police and the community while conveying a message of safety and reassurance.

Through the outreach, the ‘She Teams’ sought to reinforce their commitment to protecting women, senior citizens and other vulnerable sections of society.

The celebrations also highlighted the role of community engagement in building trust between citizens and the police.
