Ranip Civic Plot Shock: AMC Cancels Private Travels Lease After Stripped Woman Found In Bus Parking Lot

A shocking safety breach at a municipal property in Ahmedabad's Ranip area has sparked furious public outcry, forcing the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) to abruptly terminate the lease of a private travel firm. Local residents rushed to rescue a young woman discovered completely unclothed between parked luxury buses in a civic-owned plot leased to Jain Travels.

Following immediate representations by terrified neighbourhood families, Standing Committee Chairman Kamlesh Patel ordered West Zone Estate officials to inspect the site and cancel the travel agency's tenancy with immediate effect.

Driver Allegedly Robbed Victim And Took Phone

The incident unfolded on the night of 25 July inside an 1,847-square-metre AMC plot situated near the Khodiyar Temple in Ranip. The land had been officially leased to Jain Travels for 365 days strictly for vehicle parking. However, agency drivers had reportedly turned the enclosed plot into illegal living quarters.

Nearby residents hurried to the spot after noticing the distressed woman sitting naked between parked buses. Local women provided clothes to the victim, who alleged that a bus driver had called her to the parking site before forcibly stripping her and seizing her mobile phone.

Local Residents File Police Complaint Over Safety Threats

The disturbing scene triggered intense panic and anger among families living in adjacent residential societies. Local residents immediately approached the Ranip police station with a formal written petition, highlighting that bus drivers had turned the municipal parking lot into an illegal den.

Women and children in the locality reported feeling deeply unsafe due to the unchecked presence and activities of the drivers residing on the commercial plot.

AMC Standing Committee Cancels Lease Contract

Taking swift note of the public fury, Standing Committee Chairman Kamlesh Patel directed the West Zone Estate and Town Development Officer (TDO) departments to investigate the premises. The inspection confirmed flagrant violations of board and lease terms by Jain Travels.

On the explicit directions of the Chairman, the Estate Department officially cancelled Jain Travels' lease for the 1,847-square-metre plot, halting all operations and ordering the immediate evacuation of the site.
