Railway Employee Killed, Colleague Injured After Motorcycle Slips Near Ellis Bridge

A railway employee was killed and his colleague seriously injured after their motorcycle allegedly slipped beneath Ellis Bridge on the western side of the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad on Monday.

According to preliminary information, the motorcycle was being ridden by Chintan Narendra Rathod when it reportedly slipped, causing both riders to fall onto the road. Rathod suffered serious injuries and was declared dead at the spot.

The pillion rider, Kiran Vaghela, also sustained serious injuries and was undergoing treatment.

Both Rathod and Vaghela were employees of the Railway Department and were reportedly returning home to Maninagar from the Sabarmati ICD depot when the accident occurred.

The M Division Traffic Police have initiated legal proceedings and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
