Parking Dispute Near Gujarat College Turns Violent, Delivery Worker Attacked With Iron Knuckle

A 26-year-old delivery worker was allegedly assaulted with an iron knuckle during a dispute over parking a two-wheeler near Gujarat College in Ahmedabad, police said.

The incident took place around 12.15 pm on July 29 outside ES-48 Blickit Store near Gujarat College. The injured man, identified as Farid Khan Hanif Khan Pathan, later approached Ellisbridge police and lodged a complaint against Javed Khan Pirumiya Sheikh, a resident of Juhapura.

Argument Over Two-Wheeler Parking

Pathan has been working as a delivery worker at the store for around three months. On July 29, he arrived at the outlet on his Suzuki Burgman and parked his two-wheeler outside.

Sheikh allegedly approached Pathan and questioned him over the parking. An argument subsequently broke out between the two.

According to the complaint, Sheikh allegedly abused Pathan and threatened to kill him. When Pathan objected to the threats, Sheikh allegedly took out an iron knuckle from his two-wheeler and attacked him.

Three Stitches At VS Hospital

Pathan told police that Sheikh first struck him on the cheek. He raised both hands to protect himself, following which Sheikh allegedly hit him on the hand with the knuckle.

The assault left Pathan bleeding from his cheek. His cries reportedly drew the attention of people nearby, following which Sheikh allegedly fled the spot.

Pathan then called a friend, who took him to VS Hospital on a motorcycle. Doctors treated his cheek injury and reportedly administered three stitches.

Ellisbridge police have registered a case and launched an investigation. Further action will be taken based on the findings of the probe.
