Odhav Police Bust MD Drug Delivery Bid, Seize 10.265g Consignment

Odhav police arrested a 48-year-old man after allegedly finding 10.265 grams of mephedrone, commonly known as MD drugs, in his Swift car near Akshar Purushottam Nagar Society on SP Ring Road in Ahmedabad.

Police identified the accused as Jitendrakumar Shrilalbhai Dagga, a resident of Kathwada. Officers also seized the Swift car, a mobile phone, cash and the suspected drug, with the total value of the seized items estimated at ₹2.84 lakh.

Police said they had received information that a man would arrive near a newly constructed site opposite Akshar Purushottam Nagar Society in a blue Swift car to deliver a consignment of MD drugs.

Acting on the tip-off, a police team kept watch at the location and detained Dagga when he arrived in the car. During a search, officers allegedly found a transparent plastic bag containing brown powder in the right pocket of his trousers.

The substance was subsequently identified as mephedrone. A digital weighing scale showed the net quantity to be 10.265 grams, police said.

Drugs Allegedly Bought from Rajasthan

During questioning, Dagga allegedly told police that he was accustomed to consuming MD drugs mixed with Rajnigandha pan masala and also sold the substance in small quantities.

According to police, Dagga travelled to Khera village near Sanchore in Rajasthan on September 22 in the Swift car with Arbaaz, a resident of Danilimda.

Police said the two allegedly purchased the drug consignment from Mahendrasingh Banna, whom Dagga already knew.

The Odhav police have registered a case against three people and launched further investigation into the alleged drug supply network.
