Two unidentified men on a motorcycle snatched a gold chain from a police sub-inspector's wife in the Shela area of Ahmedabad on Tuesday, prompting local law enforcement to launch a full-scale investigation.
The victim was returning home accompanied by her son when the two suspects intercepted her. Moving swiftly on their two-wheeler, the assailants targeted the woman and ripped the gold chain from her neck, fleeing the scene before she could react.
Bopal Police Scan CCTV Footage
Following the incident, the Bopal police station initiated a formal inquiry to track down the culprits. Investigators are thoroughly examining CCTV camera footage captured across the vicinity.
The recovered visual data is expected to help authorities establish the identities of the two suspects and trace their exact travel route both before and after the robbery.
Rising Concerns Over Residential Street Crime
The brazen daylight heist has once again drawn attention to recurrent chain-snatching incidents within residential neighbourhoods. Perpetrators frequently single out pedestrians and individuals returning home, capitalising on the mobility of two-wheelers to make rapid getaways.
Police confirmed that the investigation is actively under way. Further specifics, including the exact financial value of the stolen chain and precise situational details, remain awaited as the probe continues.
