Milk Delivery Worker Arrested After Alleged Indecent Behaviour With Woman in Vastrapur Apartment

A 23-year-old milk delivery worker was arrested after allegedly making indecent gestures towards a woman at an apartment near IIM Ahmedabad in Vastrapur early Friday morning.

Woman Approached Vastrapur Police

The incident reportedly took place around 5 am on September 25 at Anik Apartment near the Indian Institute of Management (IIM). According to the police complaint, the woman was entering her flat with a friend when the accused, identified as Anil, son of Hirabhai Nath, approached them and asked for water.

The woman allegedly refused. The complaint states that Anil then came close to her and behaved indecently, allegedly attempting to remove his trousers and making obscene gestures towards her.

The woman subsequently approached Vastrapur police and lodged a complaint.

Accused Identified As Milk Delivery Worker

Police identified the accused as Anil, 23, a milk delivery worker associated with Milk Basket. He is a resident of Vihatnagar near Anjali Crossroads in Vejalpur and originally belongs to Tokar village in Sarada taluka of Rajasthan's Udaipur district, according to the complaint.

Vastrapur police have arrested the accused in connection with the case.

Friend's Statement To Be Examined

Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the alleged incident, including the accused's presence at the apartment and the sequence of events.

The statement of the woman's friend, who was present when the alleged incident occurred, is also expected to form part of the investigation.

Further investigation is underway.
