Ketki Vyas Sent To Judicial Custody After ACB Court Hearing In Ahmedabad

Ketki Vyas was on Thursday remanded to judicial custody by the Special Anti-Corruption Bureau Court in Ahmedabad after the ACB declined to seek further custodial remand.

ACB Does Not Seek Further Remand

Vyas was produced before the Special ACB Court at Lal Darwaja, where the agency told the court that further custodial interrogation was not required at this stage.

The ACB said a substantial part of its investigation is based on documentary evidence. With the necessary proceedings involving Vyas completed, the agency did not seek additional police custody.

The court subsequently issued a jail warrant and remanded Vyas to judicial custody.

Flat Search Part Of Investigation

The ACB had earlier sealed Vyas’s flat as part of the investigation. The premises were later opened in her presence and searched by the agency.

Investigators also questioned Vyas on matters related to the case and recorded her responses, the ACB said.

Vyas Being Taken To Sabarmati Jail

Following the court order, Vyas is being taken to Sabarmati Central Jail.

The investigation will now focus on documentary records and other material gathered by the ACB. Officials said Vyas’s physical presence was not considered necessary for the next stage of the probe, prompting the agency to forgo further custodial remand.
