Kankaria Lakefront to Host Midnight Garba on October 24, AMC Expects 10,000 Attendees

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is preparing for a large-scale Garba night at Kankaria Lakefront on October 24, with an estimated 10,000 people expected to join the celebrations. The event will begin at 7.30 pm and continue until midnight, with a stage being set up near Gate No. 1 and an estimated budget of ₹20 lakh to ₹25 lakh.

Priyanka Basu, Shaan Batunge and their orchestra are scheduled to perform at the programme. The AMC plans to let visitors play Garba at different locations across the lakefront rather than confining the celebrations to one designated area.

Stage Preparations Underway Near Gate No. 1

Preparations are in progress at Kankaria Lakefront, with organisers planning for the expected crowd of around 10,000 people. The stage will be located near Gate No. 1, while participants will be able to play Garba across various parts of the venue.

The programme is scheduled to run for four and a half hours, from 7.30 pm to midnight.

AMC Allocates Up to ₹25 Lakh for Garba Night

The civic body has estimated an expenditure of ₹20 lakh to ₹25 lakh for organising the event. The programme is part of the AMC’s series of cultural activities at Kankaria Lakefront.

The venue hosts several events each year, including the Kankaria Carnival and programmes associated with Jaya Parvati Vrat and Gauri Vrat. The October 24 Garba night will add to the lakefront’s calendar of public celebrations.

With live performances and space for Garba across the venue, the AMC expects the programme to draw thousands of participants.
