An Instagram influencer from Ahmedabad has filed a complaint after a user allegedly posted a caste-based insulting comment against her on social media. The Isanpur police have registered a case under the Atrocities Act and started an investigation.
The 28-year-old woman, who lives at Murlidhar Sky on the Narol-Naroda Road, works as a makeup artist and Instagram influencer. The case is linked to a controversy that started after she was stopped from shooting a reel at the Hare Krishna Temple in Bhadaj.
Dispute Started After Temple Stopped Reel Shoot
The woman had seen a post on the temple's Instagram page inviting influencers to shoot content for Janmashtami. She contacted the temple through Instagram and was given a phone number for further communication.
After speaking to the temple, she reached the temple with her family on the night of September 4 to make reels. However, after reaching there, other temple volunteers allegedly stopped her from making a video and asked her to leave.
The woman later made a video about the incident and uploaded it on her Instagram account. The video went viral on social media and led to further controversy.
User Allegedly Posted Caste-Based Comment
During the controversy, an Instagram user named RJ Siwang allegedly used the woman's photograph and uploaded a reel mocking her. On September 6, another Instagram user, identified as Rohan Sah, allegedly posted an insulting caste-related comment below the reel.
Following the comment, the woman approached Isanpur police and filed a complaint against the user. Police have registered a case under relevant provisions of the Atrocities Act and are investigating the matter.
