Two unidentified men on a motorcycle allegedly stole a ₹15,000 handset near Anjali Char Rasta in Paldi; police register complaint
An Assistant Central Intelligence Officer working with the Intelligence Bureau (IB) in Ahmedabad has reported that two unidentified men on a motorcycle snatched his mobile phone while he was out for a morning walk near Anjali Char Rasta in Paldi on October 26.
The complainant, Rakesh Kumar Mehta, 54, a resident of Mangalya Tower near Anjali Crossroads, alleged that the incident took place near a Hanuman temple when a motorcycle carrying two men approached him from behind.
According to his complaint, the pillion rider took his grey Motorola Edge 60 Fusion 5G mobile phone from his pocket before the duo sped away towards Dharnidhar Crossroads.
Complaint Filed After Purchase Bill Obtained
Mehta told police that he could not chase the suspects because he was out for a walk. He subsequently informed his son, Laksh Rakesh Kumar Mehta, who had earlier filed an e-FIR in connection with the incident.
After obtaining the handset’s purchase bill, Mehta submitted a formal complaint to Paldi police on October 27. He estimated the phone’s current value at ₹15,000.
Mehta is posted at the IB department’s Shahibaug office and has sought legal action against the unidentified motorcyclist and pillion rider.
Paldi police have registered the complaint and launched an investigation to identify and trace the suspects.
