House found ransacked after businessman returned

The complainant, Hiteshkumar Jayantilal Shah, who runs Shah Electronics in Naroda, told police that he had left his house around 6 am on August 25 to drop his wife at a bus near Chhadawad police post before leaving for a pilgrimage.

He later returned to his Paldi residence around 7.15 am to feed birds, where he found the house ransacked. He immediately informed the police control room and his family members and contacted technicians handling the CCTV system at the house.

Burglars allegedly broke lock, searched rooms

According to the complaint, CCTV footage showed two unidentified persons allegedly breaking the lock of an iron grill on the left side of the main door using a tool.

The suspects allegedly then opened an aluminium-glass window and entered the hall before searching several parts of the house, including the drawing room, dining area, a bedroom and the master bedroom.

They allegedly broke open wooden cupboards and took away gold ornaments, silver articles, cash and other valuables.

The stolen property reportedly included:

  • Three gold rings weighing around 6.95 grams
  • Four pairs of gold earrings weighing around 21 grams, including a diamond-studded pair
  • A gold chain weighing around 12.8 grams
  • A 30-piece gold American Diamond set valued at around ₹3 lakh
  • A gold-plated idol of Lord Parshvanath valued at around ₹45,000
  • Six silver plate, bowl and spoon sets
  • Three silver lamps
  • Silver anklets and coins weighing around 3.3 kg, valued at approximately ₹3 lakh
  • Around ₹4 lakh in cash
  • Around 100 branded imported keychains valued at approximately ₹2 lakh
  • Around 20 branded watches worth approximately ₹2 lakh
