The Ahmedabad Local Crime Branch (LCB) of Zone-2 has arrested two men from Rajasthan for allegedly stealing an electric generator and its trolley from the Sabarmati Riverbed area. Police traced the stolen equipment to Nagaur district using CCTV footage from the area.

The accused have been identified as Mukesh Babulal Godara (Bishnoi), 25, and Rakesh Babulal Godara (Bishnoi), 27, both residents of Nimbari Chandawatan village in Nagaur district. Police said their alleged associate, Sheruram Pattaram Godara (Bishnoi), remains absconding.

Generator Stolen From Temple Premises

According to police, the generator and trolley were stolen between 7.30 am and 8.30 am on August 29 from the premises of Jhampadi Mata Temple near Kotarpur village in the Sabarmati Riverbed.

A complaint was subsequently registered at Sabarmati Riverfront East Police Station under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

CCTV Trail Led Police To Nagaur

The investigation began after an LCB team led by Police Inspector K D Patel examined CCTV footage from locations around the scene.

Police said the footage showed the stolen generator and trolley being transported towards Rajasthan. Investigators followed the trail and identified the vehicle allegedly used to move the stolen property.

The Zone-2 LCB team then travelled to Rajasthan and continued the search in the Merta area of Nagaur district.

Stolen Generator And Trolley Recovered

Police eventually traced the vehicle and allegedly recovered the stolen generator and trolley.

Mukesh and Rakesh were subsequently arrested, while the recovered property and the accused are being handed over to Sabarmati Riverfront East Police for further investigation.

Police are continuing efforts to locate Sheruram Godara, who has been named as the third accused in the case.
