Argument Over Visit To Snack Shop
According to the complaint filed at Naranpura police station on October 1, the incident took place around 11 pm on September 27 outside a shop near Sandhvi Circle.
Maneklal, a resident of Vadaj, told police that he had gone to the shop on his Activa to eat vada pav. When the shopkeeper told him the snack would take another 10 to 15 minutes to be prepared, he stepped outside.
He alleged that two men standing nearby questioned him about why he had come to the area, leading to an argument.
One of the men, allegedly wearing a black shirt, abused Maneklal and picked a fight with him. Maneklal then called his friends Jigarbhai Tikariya and Meet Thakkar for help.
Friend Also Injured While Intervening
According to the complaint, two more men subsequently joined the altercation and assaulted Maneklal.
The complainant alleged that the man in the black shirt attacked him on the head with a bracelet he was wearing, causing bleeding injuries to his forehead and the back of his head.
When Jigarbhai attempted to intervene, he was allegedly struck above his right eye, resulting in another bleeding injury.
The commotion reportedly attracted the attention of local residents, after which the four men fled the spot.
Two Friends Taken To Hospitals
Meet Thakkar took Maneklal to Trisha Hospital in Vadaj for treatment, while Jigarbhai was taken to Sola Civil Hospital in a 108 ambulance.
After receiving initial treatment at Trisha Hospital, Maneklal was referred to Sola Civil Hospital for further treatment. He received five stitches for the injury to the back of his head and also sustained injuries to his left cheek and forehead.
