Fire Breaks Out at Food Products Unit in Naroda GIDC, Seven Fire Tenders Deployed

A major fire broke out at a food products manufacturing unit in Naroda GIDC Phase III on Saturday morning, prompting the Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services to deploy seven fire tenders to control the blaze.

According to the fire department, the incident was reported at around 9.40 am from Plot No. 28 in Naroda GIDC Phase III, where a food products manufacturing unit is located. The fire reportedly broke out in the premises where raw materials used for food production were stored.

Following the emergency call, a mini Gajaraj fire tender from the GIDC fire station was initially dispatched to the site. Additional fire tenders were subsequently sent from Nikol, Naroda, Chandkheda and Shahpur, along with a water bowser from Nikol, after the incident was classified as a major firefighting call.

Firefighters reached the industrial premises and began efforts to contain the flames and prevent them from spreading to adjoining units in the densely packed industrial area.

The exact cause of the fire and the extent of damage to the premises and raw materials were not immediately known. Fire officials were assessing the situation and continuing firefighting operations.
