Fake Deputy Mamlatdar Caught in Ahmedabad, Bogus Revenue Department ID Card Seized

A 40-year-old man posing as a Deputy Mamlatdar and Executive Magistrate of Modasa was arrested by the Ahmedabad Crime Branch near Maninagar’s Southern Railway Crossing.

The accused, identified as Kiritkumar alias K.B. Babubhai Jethabhai Amin, was allegedly using a fake Gujarat Government Revenue Department identity card to project himself as a government official and intimidate people.

The Crime Branch received information about Amin while its personnel were patrolling in the Maninagar area. Acting on the tip-off, police reached the Southern Railway Crossing near Jayhind Char Rasta with panch witnesses and detained him. 

Police said Amin was wearing a red shirt and cream trousers when he was found near the railway crossing. During questioning, he claimed to be a Deputy Mamlatdar and Executive Magistrate posted in Modasa.

Fake Government ID Recovered During Search

Police searched Amin and recovered a laminated identity card from his pocket. The card carried the words ‘Government of Gujarat - Revenue Department’ and identified him as ‘Kiritkumar B. Amin, Designation: Dy. Mamlatdar & Exe Magistrate’.

The identity card was found to be fake, following which police seized it and initiated legal proceedings against him.

The Crime Branch subsequently handed Amin over to Maninagar Police. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.

Earlier Arrested for Posing as a Policeman

According to police records, Amin is originally from Helodar village in Malpur taluka of Aravalli district and currently lives in an Empire Heights flat near Comfy Hotel in Ghodasar.

Investigators are now examining the circumstances in which he obtained and used the fake Revenue Department identity card. Police are also checking whether he used the identity of a Deputy Mamlatdar and Executive Magistrate to influence people or carry out any activity in the name of government work.
