Enmity Triggers ₹6.56-Lakh House Theft in Ahmedabad: Youth Arrested, Minor Apprehended as Stolen Jewellery Recovered

The Ramol Police in Ahmedabad have cracked a major housebreaking case in the city's eastern suburbs, arresting a 22-year-old youth and apprehending a minor for allegedly stealing gold and silver ornaments worth ₹6.56 lakh from a neighbour's home. Investigators revealed that the crime was fueled by personal revenge following an earlier altercation between the main suspect and the house owner.

Reprimand Leads to Targeted Revenge Plot

The incident unfolded at a residence in Bharwadvas, Ramol, where the householder discovered that a stash of cash along with high-value gold and silver jewellery kept securely inside a locker was missing.

During the initial probe, suspicion fell on a local juvenile who frequently visited the victim's house. Investigators suspect the minor exploited this familiar access to slip into the house unnoticed. Police revealed that the theft was orchestrated alongside 22-year-old Prashant Kantibhai Makwana (Thakor), a resident of Punamnagar Society near CTM.

Prashant, who frequently visited the minor, had previously been scolded and confronted by the complainant over a personal dispute. Seeking retribution for the humiliation, Prashant allegedly teamed up with the juvenile to carry out the heist.

Surveillance Squad Recovers Full Loot

Acting on technical intelligence, a surveillance squad from the Ramol Police Station rounded up Prashant and the minor for questioning. Under sustained interrogation, the duo broke down and confessed to the break-in, leading officers directly to the hidden loot.

Police successfully recovered the entire cache of stolen gold and silver ornaments, valued at ₹6.56 lakh.

Legal Action Under BNS and Juvenile Justice Act

Officers formally placed Prashant Makwana under arrest under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), while legal proceedings were initiated against the minor under the Juvenile Justice Act.

Supervised by senior officers, the Ramol Police team is currently examining the exact sequence of events to determine whether the juvenile was coerced or actively manipulated into assisting with the crime.
